In a colorful mood

I'm off to Virginia today for a wedding. A friend of Dan's from high school is getting hitched at the Shenandoah Valley Museum and then has the reception at this really nice hotel. I'm really excited. I love weddings!

To save money, I didn't buy a new dress or outfit. Instead I'm just wearing the outfit I wore to promotion (see the last post). It's colorful, cute, and definitely wedding why not??

I am however, spending some money on getting my hair done. I haven't gotten it put in an updo since high school, but I'm excited about it. I just didn't want to worry about doing it tonight. I'll definitely post pictures afterwards.

Last night I got sushi with my roommate (I had gone to Sushi the night before too). It was delicious as always. I wish I could afford to have a sushi chef live with me! It's sooooo good!!
Anyways, I'm meeting Dan and his mom at the mall this morning to help pick out a tie for him for today, before heading to my hair appointment.

Catch ya later!

I've been a bit MIA lately, only because wrapping up the last days of school is taking a lot out of me!! So much to do until the 23rd!

So here's what's been going on, in a completely ridiculous random order:

No sleep!- With the exception of this weekend in VA Beach, I have had the WORST sleep ever! All last week and last night I have not been able to sleep at ALL. Last night/this morning I was up before my alarms went off! I literally toss and turn the entire night. It's awful!! One night last week I had taken 2 excedrin pm pills, and it knocked me out so much that I didn't get up until 7:30am which is the time I usually leave the house! OY. I think tonight I'll just take one pill, and set 4 extra alarms. Wish me luck!

Moving along in the right direction- My school psychologist was nice enough to help me filter through the list of hundreds of therapists in this area who take my insurance. I'm down to two names. Next move: Call and make an appointment! :)

Yoga- Dawn and I went to Yoga last Thursday. We were actually supposed to go the Thursday before that, but we got our dates mixed up. Ah well. It was FANTASTIC. It was such a great workout and so relaxing! It couldn't have come at a more perfect time for me too, I've been so stressed out lately with school. Beth we missed you!

Beach Weekend- I went to VA Beach this weekend to visit Dan. We had a great time! I took Friday off so I left early Friday morning and got there around 2:30pm or so. I took a nap and just a little after I woke up, Dan got home from work. We went and had a yummy dinner at PF Changs and had a fun walk on the beach afterwards. :) On Saturday, we went to an all day art festival that was on the boardwalk. We saw some really bizarre and interesting art. The festival stretched for 20 blocks or so!! IT WAS HUGE! We had some expensive, but tasty vendor food...mmm cheesesteak. A friend of Dan's was staying in VA beach at a really nice hotel for a judge's conference, and didn't need his room for the last night so let us have it! It was awesome! It was a suite and had a flat screen! The hotel was right on the beach and had a really nice pool. After the art show, we went back to the hotel and stayed at the pool for a while. We went home and then went out to dinner at a cute italian restaurant. On Sunday, we did a little shopping (hellllooo new wedges!), had some delicious bagels at Beach Bagels, and took a nap for an hour and a half! I left VA Beach around 6ish or so and got home around 10:30pm. It was a great weekend!!

School Clean-Up- From 12:30pm until 6:30pm I was in my classroom....I cleaned, organized, recycled, tossed, dusted, wiped, filed, sorted, etc. etc.....oy! I still have a lot to do!

An hour of Me-Time- After working so hard today, I took some time out for me and went to get a pedicure. Now my toes look super cute and pretty for the promotion tomorrow andddd for the wedding this upcoming weekend! :) Sweet! Plus the lady must have sensed how stressed I was, because she spent a lot of extra time massaging my feet and legs....maaann I needed that!

Tomorrow night, June 22nd, is our 5th grade promotion (Dan says, "They're getting a raise?")

Promotion is their graduation from 5th grade. It's tomorrow from 4-6pm. I should be writing my "speech" or what I plan on saying about all of my students tomorrow during the ceremony, but instead I am writing a blog post and procrastinatin.

Anyways, here's my outfit...
I found the dress at the mall last year and have only worn it once since I bought it. The shoes are new from this past weekend at VA beach (on sale from $49.00...for $20!!) Gotta love some brightly colored wedges in the summer!! :) And I LOVE how it matches my dress perfectly!

Anyways, I really need to go figure out what to say about my students. This is SO going to make me cry. They drive me nuts, but I don't want them to go!!

Have a great week! :)

Reasons why today sucked

And don't get all you should think positive about today.........Nope. Not today. Today I need to vent and be negative. So there.

*The kid who we will call "Albert" who has a serious anger issue....called me a B*tch for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. Took him to the office. Awesome.

*Someone (I don't know who) wrote in one of my books from the classroom library that I purchased with my own money the F word (which has happened a few times in the past month).

*My entire class was told to move their clip on the behavior chart by another teacher because they were all talking in the hallway for the 3rd day in a row. So the whole class came into my room after recess yelling and whining and throwing their arms up.

*I have a lot of flat out liars in my room who have no trouble getting nasty and tattling on each other but can't freaking tell the truth and tell what they've done themselves. They are better than that.

*I am counting down the days..........I shouldn't be counting down the days. This is when it's supposed to be fun.

All I want to do is curse back at them! That's awful I know because I love all of them, but damn they pissed me off today.

What Urks Me

Toilet paper rolls that don’t let it roll…instead it rocks back and forth, so you can only get a square at a time.

Noises that are repeated over and over again while something else is going on…for instance a pencil tapping on a desk repeatedly as the kids are taking a test (it drives me nuts!). Or last night at the movies, someone had a book and was fanning it towards her face so the flapping of the book made this sound over and over again during the movie.

Bad manners in general. ESPECAILLY when eating food. When you let a person in or let them pass you while driving, and they don’t give the completely necessary thank you wave.

When you’re watching a tv show or movie that you’re in to and someone comes up to you and has a whole conversation with you even when you’re trying to give them the clue that you reallllyyy want to watch this (like pausing it on DVR every time they speak, or looking back at the tv every couple seconds). Can you please wait for a commercial? I never get TV time!

I talked about how I don’t like things being left open…closets, cabinets, etc. Well, let me elaborate…I’ve tried to let it go, but just can’t! For instance, if I see that my dresser drawer is open and part of a shirt is sticking out as I’m walking out the door I will try to go downstairs to continue on my way, but more often than not I will stop mid-stairs and come back up just to fix it, because that’s all I thought about after I saw it. Yep, I’m that crazy. So the annoying part...the feeling that I HAVE to fix it.

What "urks" or annoys you??

Tooting my own horn

I went to the gym twice last weekend, and twice during the week (including tonight)!!

AND I haven't had fast food in weeks!! For the most part, I've been eating pretty well and drinking lots of water.

I really hope if I keep this up, I can get more toned and lose a few pounds to look summer-awesome!!

Wish me luck! :)

Have a great weekend!

Wedding Crazed?

So, I have recently realized just how curious and intrigued I am by weddings. (don't get all "oooohh you sooo can't wait to get married right now, you're obsessed" on me...not the case!) I think it's been on the brain so much lately though because I have had a lot of friends from high school get married, and I'm attending 3 weddings this year. One of my best friends just engaged too, so it's definitely all around me!

Anyways, I think what I love about it the most....the dorkiest part of course....scheduling, organizing, and working with meticulous details!! That is my realm right there! I love doing stuff like that! So I get a kick out of seeing how others do it, and how they put all those details and plans together. What gets me, is that it's a year + of planning for just a few hours on the big day. Not to say that those aren't some of the most important hours of your life, but it just seems kinda crazy to me!

So when I say I'm crazed, let me explain...whenever I see an engagement ring or wedding band on anyone even if it's a stranger, I can't help but smile and try to imagine what kind of wedding they had. Ohhh yea, and rings have all these crazy details too!

I wonder if I like working with small details and organizing because it's refreshing to know that there are always infinite choices in life?

...too deep?

(ha that's what she said! lol...annnddd I just ruined that deep thought!)

In other news, it's raining all day today, and it just so happens to be the 5th grade picnic today. Of course! All of our field trips have been rained on with the exception of one that was inside anyways. Figures!
Have a great Wednesday!

Weekend of Craziness

Friday: I went to Greene Turtle around 9:30 or so to see Katie R. for her birthday. I was suprised to find Andy Yee there! We talked the whole time and it was really great to catch up with him. Jen was there also. :) My roomies came out to Greene Turtle right around the time Katie's party of people left. I stayed with them until last call at 1am! Crazy!

I came home Friday night and found that a TON of small nasty gnats and baby moths had flown through my window screen (the window was open because I wanted there to be air flow in my room) and all over my room!! Note to reader: I HATE bugs. I can't stand them, and even just seeing one before bed will give me nightmares for the week. Not even kidding. My roommates had stopped to get McD's while I drove home seperately. Until they came home, I had been standing on my desk, chair, bed, and anything I could to be able to reach the nasty bugs and squash them with a clorox wipe! (no fly swatters here) I was literally killing bugs for almost an HOUR! Ewwww. Not surprisingly, I did not sleep very well that night.

Saturday: Woke up early at 8pm, probably because I was afraid there were nasty bugs around my head and bed. Had some breakfast and chatted with the roomies, a roomie's bf, and best friend (they're here for her bday weekend). Went back to bed at 10am and took an awesome nap until 12pm. I had a delicious lunch with Dawn at the mall (a ceasar salad with avocado and juice) and then went to H&M with her to find a new shirt. I found a really cute purple plaid tank top. :) I also tried on some dresses in hopes to find one for the upcoming weddings that Dan and I are going to, but apparently I'm too boobalicious for them!

I don't know if it was the bra I was wearing or what, but DAYYUUM.

tig ol bitties or what?!

Too much boobage for me!

Darrnnniittt and I realllyyyyy loved that blue dress a lot!!

Saturday night: I babysat until 8pm, and then went home and got ready. I picked up Dawn and we headed to Bay Cafe in Canton and met up with my 2 roomies, Reese's best friend, and boyfriend. We had such a great time! I am shocked to hear myself say it, but we closed the place down!! We were there until 1:30am! What am I in college again, or what?! Dawn was hungry and so was I so we headed to Double T while the others (who also included 3 guy friends of J and R) went home. Dawn and I had some yummy food and played a lot of photo hunt games at the touch screen at our table. I came home expecting to tip toe around the house while trying not to wake anyone (because at this point it was around 3:30am) and instead came home to everyone yelling "JESSSSSS IISSS HOOMMEEEE WOOOO!!" Oh dear lord, you people are still awake?!

I stayed downstairs with everyone for a while...long story short (while I guess it's already long, but whatever) I didn't get to bed until 5am! Whattt the heckk....even J said "why are the birds chirping right now?!" ummm because it's MORNING. Ugggh.

Sunday: Breakfast with Dawn and Eggspectations (YUM). Napping. Laziness. Thank goodness.

What a weekend. Well if I wasn't sure before, I certainly am now....I am not made out for this going-out-until-really-late-all-the-time thing anymore! I need my precious sleep!

Happy Friday!

Best baby ever! I wish the lamp wasn't on in the background, but other than that, I LOVE this photo!! She's so much fun!! I hope I can see her either this weekend or next!

I am soooo looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow! It has been a longgggg flippin' week!

Enjoy the weekend! :)

Let's Face it:

even the calendar says ----- W T F.

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

This weekend involved all of my favorite things: shopping, time with Dan, the beach, wine, jazz music, and great food!

I got there late Friday night. I was soo tired I pretty much went to sleep right after getting there.

Saturday ~ Dan and I went shopping all day (I haven't done that in forever!) at the Virginia Beach Mall...which by the way is fantastic! It has XXI, H&M, Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe, Aero, AE, Old Navy, Victoria's Secret...all of my favorite mall stores! After shopping, we took a nice walk on the beach right when the sun was about to set. Then we had a great dinner date at Macaroni Grill. Food was fantastic, service was great, and the wine was my favorite part! (house chianti Mmmm)

**Above is a cute little wallet that I got on Saturday! I love it!
**Also, don't you love the yellow nail polish? Kinda crazy, but cute!

Sunday ~ We had a yummy breakfast at home (omelettes and hash browns) and then went to the beach all day. We packed a picnic lunch for the beach. We went to Panera for a great dinner and then went to the boardwalk to watch a jazz band play. I love jazz, I wish it was more popular so I could see it more often.

Monday ~ We went to Waffle House for breakfast first and then went to the beach for a few hours. We came back home, took a nap, and then I got ready to go. I left there around 6:30ish, and thanks to traffic didn't get home until 11:15pm or so.

Overall, a fantastic weekend! Thanks Dan!

Oh and P.S. -- He got me this really awesome wine stopper that's made out of an antique key! (I have a big thing for old antique keys). I'll put a picture up when I take one.

Hope you had a great weekend!
