Classroom After Photos

So there's no need for a lot of explanation for the following photos, they're pretty self-explanatory. They mostly include pictures that document my need for labeling and love for organization. :)

Enjoy!

Aww man!!

I totally left my camera in my desk at school today!! I took so many great after photos of my classroom too! I'm going to try and get it back this weekend so I can post them, but if not I will definitely post them on Monday night.

I'm super excited about my classroom! Everything is hung, organized, labeled, and set-up! Of course I'm not quite sure about what I'm actually teaching all this week, but at least the room is ready, right?!

Happy Friday! :)

To Tat....or Not to Tat

So I've been playing around with the idea of getting a tattoo...

What?!! Jessie Strunk getting a tattoo?! Crazy, I know.

But I'm just fascinated and really interested in it. I don't ever see myself as being someone to keep going and going, getting more and more tattoos.

If I get one, it would be just ONE.

It would also be very simple, something that I absolutely love, and most likely in the foot area (which I love the femininity of the foot area, plus it wouldn't be as obvious and out there/easy to cover up if need be)

Now, I have been one to always nay-say those who get tattoos simply for the art, and without meaning...however, I think I've had a change of heart! Now that I think about it, if it's something that I really love, then it does have meaning! It doesn't have to be something related to a person who has passed, a symbol for something, or someone's name for it to be special, right? It could just be something that you love and is special to you...I personally think that's meaning enough.

I'm still playing around with different options and haven't decided yet.

I do know that if I do end up doing this, when I walk into the parlor, I will be 110% positive of what I want and of the fact that I want it...there's no going back on these things! I guess that's the scary/exciting part of it...being permanent!

Classroom Before Photos

Ok, so before I show you the after pictures (my classroom is still a work in progress to get it ready for the new school year) I thought I'd show you the before photos...

What do you think?

I changed the layout and design of my blog. I felt like it was time for a makeover. Let me know what you think!

Living Day by Day

So starting the day with the question, "What will I do today?" is not usually a good thing for me, however recently I have been enjoying doing so.

With school starting soon, the past week or so has been less planned/busy than normal, and on purpose. I really wanted some do-nothing-relax time, and I got it! Although there are some times where I feel the need to be busy and break out some fresh to-do lists (I LOVE making new lists!), it's nice taking a breather once in a while.

So whenever the part of me that feels guilty that I'm not doing something with my time or being more productive, another part of me (the more fun, spontaneous part) just reminds me of the fact that in T minus 7 days I will be back in my classroom setting up, going to meetings, organizing, planning, and wishing I had time to just sit still.

So bring on the sleeping in, not planning each hour of the day, and going through the next 7 days as I please! **

**Sometimes, I just LOVE being a teacher. I shouldn't say sometimes, it's all the time. But there are times when I REALLLYYY love it...like now, during summer break when I'm innocently deciding whether or not I should go to the pool tomorrow, take a long nap, or just stay in and watch a movie while my non-teacher friends are at a 9 to 5 wishing they had my current freedom. (sorry guys!)

Productive Day

Here's my day today, photo collage style:

You guessed it! LOTS of cleaning, organizing, straightening up, and of course bug killing! Ugh, stupid summer bugs! I also took some clothes that I haven't worn in a while to Salvation Army.
I also just worked out a little bit! Woo! I did the Amazing Arms workout from a new Workout DVD that I purchased 2 weeks ago. It's the Gunnar Peterson Best-Ever Hollywood Workout DVD! Don't make fun of me, it's actually pretty awesome. He changes the moves up frequently every minute or so, which works well with my non-existent attention span. Plus the workouts don't take that much time. The arms workout is only 10-15 minutes and I always feel the burn after!

I am trying to get back into working out regularly, but it's so hard! Hopefully doing some DVD workouts when I'm too lazy to drive to the gym will help out a little!

Dan is coming home this weekend and he's bringing me pictures from the past 2 weddings that we went to, so as soon as I have them on my computer, I will definitely post them!

Have a great day!

Random News

<--Yes, that is a pony on the beach! When I was with Katie and her family at Assateague Beach, a pony was walking on the beach and going through everyone's bags looking for food...his favorite snack? Chips, apparently! Lol.

<-- The rolling cart I won on Ebay!! Despite some drama with the lady I bought it from, I love it! I have already made up all of the labels for the drawers! I can't wait to put it in my classroom and marvel in its wonderful (and colorful) organizing ways!!

Below are ideas for how I may get my hair done for Heather's wedding this weekend....I want something elegant, pulled back and low, and something that will last the Tennessee heat (in August no less)!

What do you think?

I have my outfit picked out already. I'm super excited about it! I will post pictures in the next post. My time at the beach with Rocco and Katie were great and I'm enjoying the time with Dan at VA beach too. This past weekend, we went to Williamsburg to see a store that Dan's friend has just recently opened. We later went shopping at the outlets...where I finally gave in and bought bare minerals for a much cheaper price (yay outlets!). Then we had dinner at Outback Steakhouse. This is where Dan got to meet David Robinson, a retired NBA basketball player! Dan was soo excited! He got to shake his hand, talk to him for a minute, and then I took a picture of them! Man, and I thought Dan was tall!! This guy was monstrous!

Last night I made Steak Stir-fry with zucchini and bell peppers and rice for dinner. It was delicious! I'm thinking I might just make an easy spaghetti with meat sauce kind of meal tonight :) I'm excited to use the bruschetta spread that I got from Harry and David for an appetizer :) The Panera down the road has some fresh baguettes that would be perfect for it. I'm thinking of slicing the bread into small slices, putting a little butter on it and toasting them before putting the bruschetta spread on it. I'll let you know how it turns out! :) I love having dinner and seeing Dan every night! I can't wait to do this all the time when he finally moves back to MD next year! Wooo!!
I'm going to run to the store to get some things for dinner.
Happy Wednesday!
