Random News

<--Yes, that is a pony on the beach! When I was with Katie and her family at Assateague Beach, a pony was walking on the beach and going through everyone's bags looking for food...his favorite snack? Chips, apparently! Lol.

<-- The rolling cart I won on Ebay!! Despite some drama with the lady I bought it from, I love it! I have already made up all of the labels for the drawers! I can't wait to put it in my classroom and marvel in its wonderful (and colorful) organizing ways!!

Below are ideas for how I may get my hair done for Heather's wedding this weekend....I want something elegant, pulled back and low, and something that will last the Tennessee heat (in August no less)!

What do you think?

I have my outfit picked out already. I'm super excited about it! I will post pictures in the next post. My time at the beach with Rocco and Katie were great and I'm enjoying the time with Dan at VA beach too. This past weekend, we went to Williamsburg to see a store that Dan's friend has just recently opened. We later went shopping at the outlets...where I finally gave in and bought bare minerals for a much cheaper price (yay outlets!). Then we had dinner at Outback Steakhouse. This is where Dan got to meet David Robinson, a retired NBA basketball player! Dan was soo excited! He got to shake his hand, talk to him for a minute, and then I took a picture of them! Man, and I thought Dan was tall!! This guy was monstrous!

Last night I made Steak Stir-fry with zucchini and bell peppers and rice for dinner. It was delicious! I'm thinking I might just make an easy spaghetti with meat sauce kind of meal tonight :) I'm excited to use the bruschetta spread that I got from Harry and David for an appetizer :) The Panera down the road has some fresh baguettes that would be perfect for it. I'm thinking of slicing the bread into small slices, putting a little butter on it and toasting them before putting the bruschetta spread on it. I'll let you know how it turns out! :) I love having dinner and seeing Dan every night! I can't wait to do this all the time when he finally moves back to MD next year! Wooo!!
I'm going to run to the store to get some things for dinner.
Happy Wednesday!

Summertime and the livin's...not so easy, but at least it's Sunny!

It's been a long couple weeks, but summer school is finally coming to an end. I know I shouldn't be counting down the days considering my days end at 12:30pm every day and I only have 10 kids. But man, do they still seem like long days! This group of kids is a bit challenging, and I just find myself feeling exhausted every day after school.

Anyways, here's what I have going on in the next couple weeks:

  • Tomorrow 7/21: First Therapy Session Ever! ANNDDD 2 years and 9 months with Dan! :)
  • Thursday 7/22 Orioles Game with friends from work!
  • Friday 7/23-Monday 7/26: Ocean City with the Roc
  • Tuesday 7/27-Thursday 7/29-- Me time!! Gym, Yoga, Pool, Reading for pleasure, Shopping
  • Friday 7/30 - Sunday 8/8 Virginia Beach! I'm staying with Dan for a week! At the end of that time, we're flying from VA Beach to Tennessee for my friend's wedding. During the week when Dan's at work, I'll be having more Me Time (see above) plus some much needed beach time!
  • Monday 7/9 JURY DUTY! Ugghh Not excited about this at all. I'm hoping that I won't get called in. But we'll see! I have to drive all the way back to MD just for this. Stupid jury duty! I get paid a lousy $15 a day! Wow, really enticing. Maybe if they paid jurors more, more people would stop trying to get out of it.

So I am looking forward to the next 4 weeks or so that I have before school starts back up again in August. I'm hoping that it won't go by as fast as I think it will.

Simple Pleasures

Taco Bell Fruitistas --- Strawberry Flavor

Hearing great manners being used --> Please, Thank-you, excuse me, asking "How are you?" etc.

A silly TeenNick show called Degrassi....a Canadian show that is filled with drama, scandal, and ridiculous plot lines...it's my weakness.
What are your simple pleasures?

I did it!

Exciting Thing # 1
I just scheduled my first EVER therapy session with a therapist who has come highly recommended. I see her next week.

Woo!! This is a big step for me! Wish me luck next week!

Exciting thing # 2
Dan and I both got webcams and have been Skyping!! Don't ask me why we haven't figured this out for the past 3 years of long distance, but it's great to have now! :)

Soooo tired

Lately, I just can't get enough sleep! I am tired all the time! I get into nap-comas where I just can't stop sleeping. And then waking up in the morning is really difficult also.
Starbucks, anyone?

Making a list

What I'm So Grateful For

1. I've been reading before bed now, every night! I love it and miss doing it, so it's nice to have again.

2. I have been eating fresh fruit and vegetables on a daily basis! Woo!

3. Daily Naps ..........they ruin my night time sleep, but coming home after a long day of school and jumping into a cozy bed in the afternoon is heaven.

4. I lost a pound since last week! Small celebrations, right?! AND I can see a line in my abs!! (the one that goes down the middle) I haven't had the line in forever!

5. Yoga every Thursday with Beth and Dawn: A good stretch. Best friends. Relaxation at the end...'Nuff said.

P.S. It bothers me that the title "Things I'm Grateful for" ends in a preposition. I'm trying to ignore the OCD teacher in me and let it go because I can't think of a better way to say it....TRYING so hard. Oy vey, I'm ridiculous.

Weekend Wedding Report....better late than never!

Last weekend we went to a wedding of a friend from high school. I wore my promotion outfit as I planned, and helped Dan find a really nice green tie to match! We had a BLAST! It was gorgeous! It ended up being a garden ceremony, followed by a very classy (and probably really expensive) reception at the George Washington Hotel in Wincester, VA. I loved it! Although I did not enjoy experiencing my first wine hangover the next morning...that was not so fun!

I have more pictures to put up later, they just haven't been downloaded yet. I ended up getting my hair done. She put my hair in curls, and then pulled it back into a messy yet classy bun. It was gorgeous and it lasted from 11:30am-12 midnight! All day! Woo!

This past week has been crazy! Week one of summer school is done, and I get to celebrate with a three day weekend thanks to July 4th! Which by the way, when did it turn July already?! I feel like it should still be May or June!

I'm off to the pool, so I need to go, but I will post later!
Have a great 4th of July!!
